Q: How often should I use it?
A: It depends on the dog and the coat type. I have a Husky, so I use it more often than someone with a curly-coated Retriever or a short-haired, fine-coated dog.
Q: Does this tool have a razor?
A: No, it is not a razor. It is the best dog grooming tool I have ever owned. It is simply fantastic. I own both the large and the small version. You would be amazed at how much loose hair and undercoat this tool removes. My dogs love it! I can highly recommend it, and I have done so many times.
Q: Does the tool only remove dead hair? Or does it also cut the hair off? I know it is not a razor, but does it cause thin spots?
A: It removes any debris (grass awns and other seeds) from thick fur. I use it daily on my Golden Retriever and end up with a whole handful of hair after use. However, the fur is never thinned out, but always silky smooth.
Q: How does it work on really stubborn tangles?
A: It works, you just have to keep combing. Sometimes it is better to cut off large tangles first and then use this brush to remove the smaller tangles underneath. The sharp blades cut through the hair and thin it out.
Q: I have a short-haired dog. Would you recommend this dog brush?
A: Yes, it is suitable for both short-haired and long-haired dogs. It has two heads; you choose the appropriate teeth for your dog based on coat length and whether they shed.
